Lindsey Siegfried de Sanchez

Lindsey Siegfried de Sánchez serves as Director of Club & Society Affairs on the HESA board. She came to HESA in January 2023 with over three years of experience in student leadership positions, mostly in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, where she just finished serving a three-year term as the Alumni Advisory Board representative for the region at the international level and two one-year terms as President of the Minn-Kota Alumni Association. She re-chartered that alumni association in 2021 and led it to an award-winning status two years in a row. Lindsey is an admitted ALB degree candidate at Harvard Extension School and was recently approved for the joint degree program. She is pursuing an ALB in the Government field of study with a Legal Studies minor and is taking her four double-counting courses this academic year towards an ALM in Management.

After going through a long, difficult process to change her husband’s immigration status, he encouraged her to fulfill her childhood dream of becoming a lawyer, so she returned to college in 2018 to work towards becoming an immigration lawyer. The plan has changed slightly, after taking some life-changing courses at HES, where she realized she can do the same work and more without going to law school. Outside of school, Lindsey has 15 years of office/finance work experience, works as an immigration legal assistant, volunteers as a Department of Justice partially accredited representative at Immigrant Hope, is captain of her block for neighborhood crime prevention, serves with her husband on the Equipo de Conexiónes (Connections Team) at their bilingual church, and is a fifth-degree black belt at National Karate, where she trains in both karate and Krav Maga. She has taught karate in both English and Spanish for over fifteen years.

Before coming to the Harvard Extension School, she graduated from Normandale Community College in Bloomington, MN with an AS in Accounting, and an AA in Spanish, Economics, and Philosophy. She also graduated from the Art Institutes International-Minnesota in 2005 with a Certificate in Baking & Pastry, which she uses all the time at home to make tasty desserts that are allowed on her weird diet (organic, paleo anti-inflammatory). Lindsey lives in her little pink house in Minneapolis, MN with her husband and their two calico kitties.
