Emina Dedic was born in Prijedor, Bosnia-Herzegovina, but grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. Throughout her life, Emina has dedicated herself to political and community services/causes, supporting local charities and candidates for local, state, and national political office.  She has also been recognized for distinguished volunteer service stateside and abroad in Antigua, Guatemala and Beijing, China. A passionate educator, she has taught in Seoul, South Korea and both Nanjing and Beijing, China. She also previously served as a volunteer instructor at University of the People, the world's first tuition-free accredited US university. Many of her students were refugees seeking higher education opportunities. She enjoys serving others. Emina is an ALM candidate in the field of English.

She encourages any students seeking to create an even more inclusive, inviting, and involved atmosphere at HES to get involved. She is dedicated to increasing opportunities for extension students locally and internationally. Now in Cambridge, MA, she encourages students to let their voices be heard, come by and say hello, and feel free to message her at any time.
