Award-winning author and TEDx speaker, Allison is a graduate student at Harvard Extension School pursuing her Master’s degree in Creative Writing and Literature. She is also a graduate of both THE Ohio State University with her B.A. in Psychology, and Xavier University with her M.A. in Psychology. Allison has focused the bulk of her research on mindfulness and strengths-based goal setting. She is passionate about working with other individuals who identify with invisible disabilities and delivered a TEDx talk about resiliency in the face of medical trauma at her former alma mater. Additionally, Allison has a wealth of creative experiences including performances in Seattle with SANCA Cirque du Soleil, earning a title as one of the Top 100 Female Chess players in the United States in 2021, meriting national medals for excellence in Irish Music performance, and earning the Swarthmore Book Award. Her own writing has been published in several anthologies with her newest piece, "What Remains," winning the Inked in Gray 2022 Anthology contest to be released later this year in the collection "We Deserve to Exist.” In her free time, Allison teaches creative writing to inner-city teenagers and coaches scholastic chess, providing advocacy for gender equality, celebration, and inclusion.
