Dear HES Students,

At the Harvard Division of Continuing Education, our diverse community includes students, faculty, and staff from around the world, including Ukraine and Russia. We want you to know that we have reached out to these students and will continue to offer our support. We also recognize that some members of our community may have close ties to these regions and are facing uncertainty and disruption related to the ongoing crisis.

Should you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to reach out to the Dean of Students Office or to the resources below:

Academic Services: Students wishing to submit an appeal to drop their Spring course(s) should contact appeals@extension.harvard.edu

Financial and Registration (FR) appeals are available for any student unable to attend classes and/or complete assignments due to extenuating circumstances or compelling reasons associated with the war.

Counseling and Mental Health Services (CAHMS): Students can reach out to Harvard CAMHS (https://camhs.huhs.harvard.edu/) or CAMHS Cares Line (617-495-2042) to speak with a counselor 24/7.

Harvard Chaplains: All members of the community can also seek out support from the Harvard Chaplains (chaplains.harvard.edu or 617-879-8365).

For additional information about the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, we encourage you to read “What Happens Next in Ukraine?” featuring various Russia experts at Harvard, including Dr. Thomas Nichols, an instructor at Harvard Extension School and University Professor at the U.S. Naval War College.

Please know that we continue to extend our steadfast support to and compassion for those impacted.

In solidarity and care.
