President’s Update
Hello, HES friends. This is your HESA President, Kody Christiansen, and I have some exciting news to officially share!
I have been working very hard over the last year to make sure HES students have access to opportunities like the students at other Harvard schools. Last year, as a Cambridge resident and full-time HES degree candidate before moving on campus, I thought it would be really great to have a meal plan so I could meet some people outside of my computer screen. I was first told that HES students could not get a meal plan but I was able to get one after multiple emails and conversations.
I loved having access to food on campus and met some really wonderful people from different schools, so, I wanted to make sure that it was not just a one-off exception but something everyone at HES could get if they lived in town and wanted a meal plan. HUDS said the meal plan was open to all students after working with me to create payment accessibility for credit card transactions - but the language on their website never changed. Until now.
After working very closely with one of the amazing HUDS managers last semester - an idea was born I am proud to announce the new GRADPLUS meal plan available to all Harvard students at Graduate and Professional Schools (like HES)!!
ALM and ALB students are eligible.
Check out bit.ly/HESmealplan22 for more information. This is a big win for Harvard Extension students and I am so proud to have been a part of it.
Can’t wait to share some meals with you all!
From HUDS: “Any Harvard graduate or professional school students may elect to purchase a declining balance meal plan for use in designated Harvard University Dining Services Campus Cafes. Recognizing that food is a universal connector, the meal plan was established to foster and nourish your community experience. Nothing is as unifying as a shared meal!”
