Dear Harvard Extension Community,
As we usher in November, we take a moment to look back at the significant events and achievements of the past month.
October was a month to remember. We loved collaborating with the Harvard Graduate Council to sell 151 tickets for the Harvard/Dartmouth Tailgate Party. Our HESAFest — both on campus and online — was a resounding success. The joy of seeing many of you in person after such a long interval was genuinely heartwarming. Alongside these moments of camaraderie, we also took collective action. Our on-campus protest advocating for the removal of "in Extension Studies" from our degree names demonstrated our unity and determination to seek positive change.
In addition to the in-person protest, our Postcard Protest is in full swing, providing a platform for students to share their personal experiences and reasons for wanting the "in Extension Studies" removed. We've been moved by the influx of postcards, many from international students, each with heartfelt messages addressed to President Gay. If you haven't already, postcards are still available, and we encourage you to share your voice.
Our new "HESA Presents" Series was also launched with fervor, offering three enlightening info sessions on the Harvard Library, Accessibility Services, and Financial Services. We encourage you to watch these invaluable sessions on our YouTube channel if you haven't already.
Looking ahead, the General Assembly on November 11th beckons. These gatherings are essential platforms for dialogue and direction-setting, and we hope to see many of you there.
In the spirit of gratitude and unity, we thank each one of you for your continued engagement, passion, and commitment to the Harvard Extension community. Let's continue to shape our future together.
Warm regards,
Emina Dedic & Danielle Nuchereno
