Dear Harvard Extension Community,
As we rapidly approach the end of the term and find ourselves in the midst of December, it's a time to reflect on the milestones we've achieved and look forward to the exciting events still to come.
Our community has been incredibly active, and we're thrilled to share some updates. Firstly, our ongoing Harvard Square Homeless Shelter Supply Drive continues to showcase the immense generosity and compassion of our students and staff. Your contributions are making a real difference in the lives of those in need.
We're also excited to announce that our Postcard Protest has been a resounding success, with nearly 2000 postcards sent this year from students and supporters advocating for the removal of "in Extension Studies" from our degree names. This incredible response highlights the strength and unity of our community.
This December, we have several events lined up. Join us for an adrenaline-filled in-person rock climbing session – a fantastic way to connect with fellow students outside the classroom. Additionally, our General Assembly on the 9th promises to be an engaging and important meeting for our community, followed by an enlightening Professor Spotlight with Dr. Zach Nowak. Anyone who is attending the One Harvard's Winter Waltz Ball at Lehman Hall on Saturday, stop by and see Emina for ESRI and HESA stickers, and to sign a postcard!
We are also extremely proud to announce the launch of the Veterans Student Society (VSS), which we inaugurated on Veteran's Day. This new society is a significant addition to our community, offering support and resources to our veteran students and highlighting the diversity of experiences within our student body.
As this year comes to a close, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each of you for your participation, enthusiasm, and dedication to our community. Your engagement is the heartbeat of HESA, and it's been a privilege to witness our collective growth. Let's continue this momentum into the final weeks of the term and beyond. We wish you all the best in your upcoming projects and exams. Together, we'll end this year on a high note!
Warm regards,
Emina and Danielle
